About This Piece

Anyone who lives through a long winter knows the moment the first colour shows up — it feels like a miracle for the senses. We made it! That's what this one is. Lots of quiet white space, and then the colour arrives like a burst of renewed energy. I loved weaving the contrast between the calm and the warm celebration. This is the hope that no matter how dark and cold it may feel, we can always count on the first blooms to arrive with the light.

Materials: 100% wool with a touch of cotton woven on 100% cotton hung on Canadian soft wood dowel.

Size: 37" x 35" (including dowel to bottom of fringe)

A Few Notes

• There is no black in this piece-- note the close detail for more accurate colour.
• The loops and fringe may enjoy a light finger-combing and fluffing from time to time to keep them in line. Enjoy that little interactive moment with your art.
• Most of the yarns are hand-dyed in small batches (not by me!). This lends to the beautiful variations and humanness of every one-of-a-kind piece that I make. This also means that even if I wanted to, I could never recreate this exact piece again.

• I have done my very best to represent the true tone of the artwork in the images provided. Also, keep in mind that life is not a backlit screen.
